First Contact

We've arrived safely in Kathmandu and made contact with our mode of transport for the next two weeks. Amazingly, the paint job we asked for has come out exactly as we'd hoped and we even have a state-of-the-art Pioneer stereo.

After spending quite a while trying to our machine started (with a smoking engine sorted out by our everso helpful Nepali mechanics) we got to the driving bit.

It did take us a while to work out how to pull off without stalling but we eventually took to the open but congested roads of Kathmandu for a quick spin (complete with a couple of passengers who seemed to want to come along for the ride).

Now it's a matter of mastering the art of weaving through pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles whilst making liberal use of the horn. We've just tried to upload a video of an embarrassing attempt to start the rickshaw but connections here are a bit slow.

So we are now all set for launch tomorrow at noon.
